My nephew is studying at university in Can Tho, Vietnam. He is an orphan, he is subject to monthly social benefits, now 18 years old but still enjoy this policy. I heard that if you are over 22 years old, this benefit will be cut off, right?

    • Is maximum age to enjoy monthly social benefits 22 years old in Vietnam?

Pursuant to Clause 2, Article 5 of Decree 20/2021/ND-CP stipulating on social protection beneficiaries eligible for monthly social benefits as follows:

      2. Individuals under Clause 1 of this Article who are receiving monthly benefits, of 16 years of age and pursuing formal education, vocational education, professional secondary education, college education or first higher education degrees shall benefit from social support policies until they finish education or reach the age of 22, whichever comes first.

So, according to you, your nephew is currently 18 years old but still enjoys this policy. However, the child will be entitled to a maximum of no more than 22 years of age in Vietnam.

      Best Regards!
