How much fine does Ranger Station chiefs have the right to sanction violations of forest exploitation in Vietnam? What document regulates this issue?
In Clause 2, Article 43 of the Law on Handling of Administrative Violations 2012 and Point k, Clause 73, Article 1 of the Law on Handling of Administrative Violations amending 2020 (Effective 01/01/2022), there is a provision:
2. Ranger Station chiefs shall have the rights to:
a) Impose warning;
b) Impose fines of up to VND 10,000,000;
c) Confiscate material evidences and/or means used for administrative violations, having a value not 2 times as much as the fine amount specified at point b of this clause;
Thus, according to the above-mentioned regulations, Ranger Station chiefs has the right to sanction administrative violations for illegal forest exploitation with a fine of VND 10,000 (ten million dong) in Vietnam.
