My name is Quy, 18 years old. I'm a freshman and this is first time, I go to town, so driving is not familiar. I would like to ask if the lowest permissible speed is at least 30km/h and I run 20km/h, will it be penalized? And if so, how much will be fined in Vietnam?

    • Pursuant to Clause 1, Article 6 of Decree 100/2019/ND-CP regulating the punishment of motorists (including electric motorcycles), similar motorcycles and similar motorcycles violating road traffic rules as follows:

      1. A fine ranging from VND 100,000 to VND 200,000 shall be imposed upon a vehicle operator who commits any of the following violations:

      ...

      q) Operating the vehicle at a lower speed than the lowest permissible speed.

      Thus, according to the current regulations, not only will speeding be sanctioned, but running slower than the permissible speed will also be sanctioned for administrative violations. The fine for this act is from VND 100,000 to VND 200,000 in Vietnam.
